अमिताभ बच्चन ने ट्वीट करते हुए दिलीप साहब को लेकर भारतीय सिनेमा से जुड़े इतिहास के बारे में लिखा। उन्होंने लिखा, ”एक इंस्टीट्यूशन चला गया है, जब भी भारतीय सिनेमा का इतिहास लिखा जाएता, तो उसे दिलीप साहब से पहले और दिलीप साबह के बाद लिखा जाएगा… मैं अपनी श्रद्धांजली व्यक्त करते हुए उनकी आत्मा की शांति की कामना करता हूं और मुश्किल घड़ी में भगवान उनके परिवार को हिम्मत दे ऐसी प्रार्थना करता हूं।” वहीं अक्षय कुमार ने लिखा, बहुत से अन्य लोगों के लिए हीरो होंगे लेकिन हम एक्टर्स के लिए वह एक हीरो थे। दिलीप कुमार सर अपने साथ भारतीय सिनेमा का पूरा एक युग ले गए हैं। मेरी प्रार्थना, उनके और उनके परिवार के साथ है। ओम शांति।
